Rebranding a 16-Year-Old Institutional Repository (2025)

In 2025, a small repository team at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas Libraries rebranded their 16-year-old institutional repository. The rebrand included a new name, URL, web design, marketing materials, submission process, and a launch event. It also included unique successes and challenges due to being hosted by Digital Commons.

Developing the Idaho Harvester (2023)

The University of Idaho Library Special Collections & Archives partnered with the Library’s Data and Digital Services Department to develop a custom self-hosted platform for sharing archival collections and staff institutional knowledge. This platform, the Idaho Harvester, combines the useful functions of a blog with those of a digital collection to ensure the digitization and research conducted for outreach is easily discoverable and effectively preserved.

Addressing the Backlog: Prioritizing Archival Accessions (2020)

In late 2019, the University of Idaho Library, Special Collections Archives Department decided to create a standardized strategy to help address the backlog. Taking limited available human resources into account, the Processing Prioritization project was developed.
